Using Koberger
Koberger provides tools for formatting, previewing, and exporting book files.
You may use Koberger only in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
Your Content
You retain ownership of your manuscripts, book content, covers, metadata, and other material you upload to Koberger.
You grant Koberger a limited licence to store, process, preview, and export that content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
Koberger does not claim ownership of your content.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Koberger for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the service.
- Upload malicious code, malware, or harmful files.
- Infringe the intellectual property or legal rights of others.
- Use Koberger in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Subscriptions and Billing
Certain features of Koberger may require a paid subscription.
Prices, billing periods, and included features will be displayed before purchase.
Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing period.
You are responsible for managing your subscription through the tools provided by Koberger or its payment provider.
Cancellations and Refunds
You may cancel a subscription at any time.
Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your account or project data.
Exports and Publishing Responsibility
Koberger helps generate publishing files, but you remain responsible for:
- Reviewing proofs.
- Verifying formatting.
- Meeting store, distributor, and printer requirements.
- Ensuring final files are suitable for publication.
You should always review exported files before publication.
Service Changes
We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of Koberger from time to time.
Where practical, we will try to communicate significant changes that affect active users.
Intellectual Property
Koberger, including its software, branding, design, documentation, and related materials, remains the property of its owners and licensors.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of Koberger or its underlying technology.
Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Koberger may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.
Disclaimers
Koberger is provided as a formatting and publishing workflow tool.
We do not guarantee:
- Acceptance by any retailer, distributor, or printer.
- Compatibility with every publishing platform.
- Error-free operation.
- That exported files will be suitable for every publishing use case.
Koberger does not provide legal, accounting, tax, publishing rights, or professional publishing advice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Koberger and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount paid by you to Koberger during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using Koberger at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to:
- Protect the service.
- Protect other users.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Enforce these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
